DRURY BRANDT SHORT CERAMIC COURSES for 2014

Beginning in February, I will resume holding Short Courses from my studio in RIVONIA.

 

I have shortened the courses from 4 to 2  DAYS from 10:00 to 16:00 with a lunch break of one hour.  (Tea and Coffee will be provided ‘on tap’ but please bring your own lunch).

 

Courses are focused on either vessels or sculptural works, but on separate dedicated days, with all time spent on building.

 

First morning will begin with an introduction to the subject, followed by a small demonstration.

Participants will commence with their own work, with assistance and crit. from myself, allowing some free time for self exploration in the afternoons.

The second day will begin by an analysis of each individual piece, with the rest of the day completing and refining the works.

Participants with their own kilns will remove their works for self bisc firing.

I will assist Persons without their own kilns to fire in my kiln at a small fee.

 

Tools and clay will be supplied, but please bring your own special tools.

 

Courses will be undertaken on any 2 days of the week excluding Fridays but including Saturday* and Sunday if there is sufficient demand.

I have specifically not mentioned dates which will be determined when I receive feedback from interested workshop participants. 

*During this period Ceramics SA’s Gauteng Region will be holding its AGM on Saturday, 22 February where Christina Bryer will be presenting her workshop.  This date, is therefore a non negotiable.

 

The cost for each 2 day course is R1 200

 

If required, I will conduct a morning decorating workshop on your bisced pieces, at a

Cost of R400 -  (09:00 to 12.30)

 

Please bring you own colours for this.

 

SHORT SHORT COURSES

 

I am also offering a Half Day course also on the days specified above mornings only.

Courses to run 2 consecutive mornings from 09:30 to 13:00.

All the above conditions apply except of course there will be no afternoons.

 

Cost for the 2 days - R800
